As i got a request to post it, here is my tank/medic build. it uses a pet to operate as a second tank or as dps

there are two flex points i move around depending on what you're doing

this is a flexible build, not the best tank, not the best healer but a balance of them, suitable for HM tanking and healing

Awesome, thanks for sharing. From our previous discussions i can see now why you say its more utility.

Star Wars Galaxies Imperial and Rebel Special Forces Personnel (Mandalorians may help either faction)
The Rebel Alliance humiliated Imperial High Command by taking Coronet, Corellia, by force during an Empire Day parade. The Empire struck back, by destroying the Rebel garrison at the hidden base the Alliance ambush originated from.
Today, the Rebel Alliance defiantly holds Coronet, but they no longer have anywhere to retreat after the Imperial Military destroyed the Rebels’ base of operations on the planet.
Now, Imperial High Command turns their gaze towards Coronet, with plans to amass a Special Forces team on the outskirts of the city. Their orders: retake Coronet and eliminate all Rebel terrorists and those who harbor them.
The Rebels plan to assemble their own Special Forces team to hold the city and let the galaxy know that the Empire’s days are numbered.
Imperial Special Forces are ordered to assemble at the camp on the outskirts of Coronet, as a prelude to taking back Corellia’s capital and exterminating the Rebel scum.
Rebel Alliance Special Forces are called to assemble in front of the Coronet starport, to defend the city to the last man.

I just retrieved an egg from breeding and have not hatched it yet. The egg is called Ashscale. Have I found something interesting?

Heyo, was just wondering if anyone has been experiencing the same. Lately, my hand samplers have been getting exhausted and standing even with the jewelry and different action/stam buffs. Is this to be expected? Thanks!!

Interesting thing on Musty is ... I do not remember ever standing very much due to NOT running out of Stamina with the mining jewelry set. I've even hand sampled for rad on other planets and not have a STA problelm

Sadly though, because this was something that was started on SWG Legends, we won't be taking this specific color crystal from them as this is unique to that server out of respect and to avoid doing a straight copy from them. We do have a significant plan that will be acted on down the road that does include lightsabers and possible colors down the road. There's not a time table at this time that we can provide as our largest content patch has been pushed for the year and other items on our roadmap are being worked on as we speak. We'll release more information as we solidify our plans for further improving Jedi as a whole down the road. Thnx for answering that quickly.

Star Wars Galaxies Imperial Military Personnel Only

The Rebel Alliance made a grave mistake attacking Coronet, and the Emperor demands a response. Our losses were small in the criminals’ feeble attempt to disrupt our Empire Day celebration, but our response will be massive in scope.
Imperial Intelligence has been saving this intel for the right occasion: The Rebels have a make-shift base housed deep in the woods of Corellia, the base they launched this traitorous attack from. The Rebel Alliance base still houses a garrison, as well as stockpiles of supplies and other military equipment.
The Rebel scum are not capable of holding Coronet and defending their hidden base from a coordinated Imperial attack. Let’s make them sacrifice what they cannot afford to lose.
Imperial High Command has decreed that all Rebel Alliance military personnel at their hidden base on Corellia are to be destroyed. No prisoners, no survivors, absolutely no mercy for the terrorists.

I've done a decent amount of testing with luck and having over 2200 luck nets you only about (if i recall correctly) 22% "lucky chance" now for PvE its fine but noticing in PvP its not worth it.
Maybe we can increase/adjust lucky chance by a few more % points to make it worth it ?

    Thanks

You maybe right but I feel it's just not worth the points ATM but that's just my opinion. I like what you said thou about instant doc cool downs.

    New Client Experimental Preview

We have been hard at work modernizing the Evolve client, and the first experimental version of that work is now taking shape.

This new client represents a major step away from the old 32-bit DirectX 9 era and toward a modern 64-bit foundation. The default renderer is now Vulkan, with DirectX 11 available as a Windows fallback for older hardware or driver setups that may not support Vulkan well.

This is still experimental. Players who try it right now should expect rough edges, bugs, visual differences, and possible crashes while we continue testing and polishing. Initial QA will decide when it is ready for wider use.

    **Evolve Client Modernization Patch Notes

    Major Systems**

    • The client has moved from the old 32-bit/DX9 era into a 64-bit modern renderer branch
    • DX9 has been retired from the active client renderer path
    • DirectX 11 became the first modern renderer bridge, then Vulkan was brought up as the new default backend
    • Renderer selection is now config-driven: renderBackend=vulkan by default, with dx11 available as the Windows fallback

    Graphics

    • Vulkan is now the default renderer and the active forward path
    • DX11 remains available for Windows users whose hardware or drivers cannot run Vulkan reliably
    • Added Vulkan world rendering, textured geometry, skinned characters, GPU skinning, terrain, sky, water, clouds, particles, item icons, UI 3D views, post-processing, FSR-style render scale, bloom, SSAO, SSR, depth of field, shadows, and parallel command submission work - Reshade Style Effects directly in engine
    • DX11 received major visual parity work: water, sky, bloom, lights, holograms, emissive surfaces, fur fixes, object lights, UI scaling, GPU skinning, instancing, and post-processing

    Performance

    • Added large crowd-performance work:

    • GPU skinning

    • instancing

    • draw command recording/replay

    • off-screen alter reductions

    • UI batching

    • render-to-texture icon caches

    • reduced redundant state changes

    • worker/alter pipeline improvements

    Stability

    • Fixed numerous render-thread, asset lifetime, particle, terrain, appearance, deferred delete, UI text/cache, and worker-overlap crashes
    • Hardened client networking/message edge cases and several 64-bit bounds/count issues

    Tools

    • Added SwgSettings, an SDL3/ImGui settings tool for modern renderer options and profiles.
    • Added .evo encrypted tree archive files

    Cross-Platform Foundations

    • SDL3 now owns the modern window/input path
    • OpenAL replaces the old Miles Sound System dependency path
    • Bink video loading was removed
    • PCRE was replaced with std::regex
    • Vulkan surface creation now goes through SDL callbacks, which is a key Linux renderer prerequisite
    • Some MSVC-only seams have been reduced, including portable SEH wrappers and alignas cleanup

    Hardware Note

Vulkan is the default because it is the cross-platform renderer and the path we are actively improving. DX11 is there for older Windows machines or driver stacks that cannot run Vulkan.

Examples of Vulkan-capable GPU families include NVIDIA GTX 900-class Maxwell cards such as GTX 950/960/970/980 or newer, AMD RX 400/500 Polaris cards such as RX 460/470/480/580 or newer., and Intel HD 510/520/530 or newer integrated graphics.

I am sorry... It seems I'm one of the few people that post on the forums.... It seems the Yavin Imperial outpost now has a couple of gold elites. I have been running around SF for ages so this got me good.... Is this intended? I believe it was a 90 double gold elite at-st and another double gold elite npc.

If any info is needed, these are placed on the "back side" of the starport. The ones in the front still remain their original levels and stuff.

Nothing crazy. I was just trying to think of a way to make use of creatures that have reached a 0 breed count and/or were used for breeding only Instead of just deleting them.

Could open up a little side market for breeders.

I feel like this would give us lots of fun and give us another way to display them instead of grabbing BM and stuffing. Right now, if nothing has been changed, the only way to make the holo cube pets is to do it right from the egg before hatched.

    Rebel Military Personnel Only
This is a Star Wars Galaxies Galactic Civil War PvE mission taking place on Sunday, at 7:00 PM EST.

Imperial High Command continues to use its vast military might to tighten its grip on the galaxy.
As Empire Day approaches, the Rebel Alliance intends to challenge the narrative of Imperial dominance by making a very public statement, the kind that can’t be swept under the rug.
The Imperial Military will flood the streets of Coronet, Corellia, with an opulent showing of Stormtroopers, Imperial military vehicles and a few surprises to remind its citizens of who runs the galaxy.
You, as a Rebel operative, will be part of the team that reminds everyone the Empire’s power is not absolute. You will show citizens throughout the galaxy that the Imperial Military can not only bleed, but suffer defeat on Empire Day.

    Looking Ahead

During development of this update, a significant amount of engineering time was dedicated to modernizing the core technology that powers the game. These backend improvements—including the migration to a 64-bit server architecture, extensive performance optimizations, infrastructure upgrades, and continued development of the upcoming 64-bit DirectX 11 client—represent one of the largest technical overhauls the project has undergone.

As a result, the next five chapters of the Mandalorian Themepark were not able to make this patch. Rather than rush unfinished content, we've chosen to continue polishing these quests so they meet the quality we expect.

With the majority of the foundational engineering work now behind us, development can return to delivering new gameplay content at a much faster pace. The remaining Mandalorian Themepark chapters, along with the new 64-bit DirectX 11 client, are already well underway and are planned for an upcoming release.

Thank you to everyone who has continued testing, providing feedback, and supporting the project as we build a stronger foundation for the future of SWG Evolve.

So there is a lot of stuff that drops in game that is rather useless after a certain point.
Items that cannot be sold to a junk vendor, Example 20% ISO's, Augments with value of 20, ect....

So my idea is a large Garbage disposal that you could feed and get something random in return. Example being feed it 10 augments, get 1 of higher value augment kind of like the way we use the RE tool to level up our power bits. Which would work for ISO's , augments, anything with a low stat that just gets deleted.
There are some junk items that a junk vendor wont accept, these items could be fed to it for a usable piece of junk loot, credits, something like that.

Since this would be a large one it could be placed outside like a harvester or factory and use 1 lot slot, with power and credit costs to offset the higher "tier"(for lack of better word) object chance.

This way everything looted has purpose and doesn't end up getting deleted or thrown in storage and forgotten about.

Blueprint for Architect / Shipwright and a possible cost 100 Event tokens, so it does have a rarity to it as well.

it’s probably already in the works but would like to see more solo, 2 man, and 4 man Heroic like content.

Thoughts are more lead up type content for existing Hardmode.

    Examples…
Avatar HM lead up, 4 player. Getting a data disk to presumably get access to Avatar HM. Final phase 1 captain 4 guards (unable to pet pull).

Tusken Army HM lead up, 4 player. Final phase ransacking a test facility in Espa where a doctor has been testing new drugs.

ISD HM lead up, 2 player. Raid a weapons depot where the Deathwatch were developing weapons to target Imperial Star Destroyers, information is found on which ISD is there next target. At the end Buc Wile show up and say they missed the action and you ask for help as you found information on which ISD was targeted.

Goal is to provide reason for the actual HM, and or introducing a smaller version of the actual HM content.

As someone whose play time is often sporadic, and can be difficult to plan for specific times/scheduled events. I love solo and small group content and I wish there was more of it. The Daily challenges here have been a nice breath of fresh air, it's good that I can log in, do my Mando, Revanite, and Hracca dailies and get something out of it. EDIT: I know it's a hard hard ask, I'd also love if there was a daily that granted a single random heroic token or something. I think it's important for there to be longer term slower ways to progress gear similar to group content. Historical reactions: Like × 1

One of the things that seems to have gotten lost over the years is galaxy exploration.
We now have the ability to instantly travel from anywhere to whatever star port is close by or planet to planet without even using ships.
So it got me thinking maybe there's a way to bring back some of that, without going backwards so he's the idea.

A person, the event organizer takes a screenshot of their character in a random structure , could be a player house or a city like Naboo (prefer player house as some are deco'ed really cool) posts it discord and forums, and this is what starts the event.
To win the first person to go to that location and post their own screenshot in the same location would be the winner.
Now if it happened to be my house, or guild hall I wouldn't be able to claim the prize and if it happened to be in say Hightee's house then Hightee would be compensated but excluded from the contest so no favortism or anything like that would happen, of course with the persons permission to use their structure.

So random screenshot posted, would cause people interested to look for it, much like collections or POI's.
If after say a week no one has guessed the location or won, then a clue would be added, say the planet it's on, of course time frame could be adjusted depending on length of the event. As time goes on then more clues, planet, part of the planet North, South, ect.....then city.
Depending on who ran it prize could be rare item, credits, ect....
Anyway just a thought for a way to get people interested in exploring the galaxy again.

One of the things that makes SWG unique is the size of the galaxy and the incredible amount of creativity players put into their homes and cities. An event centered around exploration and discovery would be a fun way to showcase that while encouraging players to get out and explore places they may have never visited before. The clue system is a nice touch as well, gradually narrowing down the search if no one finds the location. It would make for a fun community event without requiring any new game systems to be developed. We'll definitely keep this in mind as we continue planning future community events. Thanks for taking the time to share such a creative idea! Orton Evolve Community Manager Historical reactions: Like × 1

I have been noticing a MASSIVE decline in desire from anyone to PvP. I would like to suggest better rewards/gear of all kinds that are tied directly to PvP. As i see it, i am a PvP'r first and foremost on all MMOs i play. I do occasionally enjoy PvE content but all of my gear and progress is locked behind PvE Content. I don't necessarily have an issue with that but more so it has effectively eliminated any reason for people to PvP anymore making my(and id imagine a few others) main source of content stale and at times non-existent. Not a nit pick or a gripe just a suggestion for those who mainly play SWG to PvP.

Ishna, post: 4726, member: 662 wrote: The gear isn't really the core problem here. The decline in PvP mainly comes down to egos. We try our best to make PvP accessible to everyone on this server, and honestly we've done a decent job. The real issue is that some people just can't tolerate losing in any capacity -- it's weird. So you end up in this strange situation where half the people are actively trying to balance teams so everyone can have fun, while others are going full out trying to rack up 30+ kills, ensuring the only person having a good time is themselves. I don't think dedicated PvP gear sets are the answer. And genuinely, carrying around multiple sets of armor -- one for PvE, one for PvP -- is a shitty playstyle. If you're a PvPer, build your armor around that. You'll find that you can absolutely handle the PvE side of things in your PvP armor anyway. That said, here's what we've actually done to improve things: We've overhauled the system with a new Battlefield system. Some highlights: No more painful queues -- Join active matches as they go, leave when you want, swap toons freely. No longer faction-based -- Play what you want to play, no scrambling to switch sides to balance numbers. Multiple queue types -- Solo, duo, trio, quad, and Group 4+. That last one is my personal favorite. It's built for large groups and carries a +-2 number balance, so a group of 6 experienced players can go up against a group of 8 with the advantage of numbers. No more AFKers sitting in as fillers just to avoid a slaughter. Forfeit option -- Group leaders can call it if the match is so lopsided there's no point continuing. Nobody has to sit through 15 minutes of getting murdered waiting for it to end. But systems only go so far. A great example Rezec brought up recently was the CORPS guys. They were genuinely fun to PvP against -- had a theme, good numbers, real presence. Their problem was ego. They had to win overwhelmingly. That meant going 6v2 instead of balancing teams, farming cloner trips instead of making the fight interesting for both sides. And then insisting Red=Dead even when a server group was trying to form up for Avatar Hard Mode was the nail in the coffin. If people can take something from that -- not take this stuff overly seriously, remember it's a game, and keep in mind we're all 35+ (with the average probably sitting solidly in the 40-50s) -- then we can actually build a solid PvP community here. But if the ego problem keeps up, people are going to keep walking away from PvP, and that hurts everyone who loves it. And for what it's worth -- PvP is my favorite part of SWG too. We want to see it thrive. Very well said. I stated in Discord we could use some more content on the vendors that use a currency obtained by PvPing. But that stuff isn’t just for PvP content anyways. I agree 100% it’s an ego thing and when people lose, they don’t have much desire to better themselves. They just cry and bitch and quit instead of changing their tactics and doing PvP for a while or ever again. Once we can figure out that aspect, which honestly there isn’t anything staff can do to change someone’s personality, we’d be set. EV’s combat system is the best of any SWG server in my opinion. People just don’t know how to use it in ways that’s fun in PvP and when they lose they get toxic.

This request has been Withdrawn, but has great information for those interested in understanding more about Dodge and Parry.

Currently we have the option of Block or Dodge in the second row of Marskman and Brawler.

    1. There is very little reason to choose Block since Dodge will calculate into Calculated Block.
    2. There is very few options to obtain Parry in either Melee or Ranged, unless you pickup Steel Body.

Suggestion change Marskman and Brawler Block expertise box to Parry.
