    Infrastructure & Engine Modernization

    Server & Core Technology

    • Fully migrated the game server to a 64-bit architecture while maintaining compatibility with all existing databases and character data.

    • Updated both the game server and chat server to build with the latest CMake, eliminating legacy compilation deprecation warnings.

    • Completed multiple server-side optimization passes and resolved numerous memory leaks.

    • Upgraded Java from Java 17 LTS to Java 25 LTS for improved long-term support, security, and performance.

    • Modernized Oracle infrastructure:

    • Oracle Client upgraded from 18.3 to 23.26

    • Oracle Database upgraded from Oracle 19c to Oracle 26ai

These upgrades greatly improve long-term maintainability, security, platform compatibility, and future development capabilities.

    Shared Account Bank

    Account Storage

    • Added a new Bank Manager NPC to Mos Eisley Bank.

    • Introduced a Shared Account Bank accessible by all characters on the same account.

    • Shared bank provides 250 storage slots.

    • Shared bank access is restricted to one character on the account at a time.

    • Characters on the same account may now:

    • Store No Trade Shared items inside the Shared Bank.

    • Trade No Trade Shared items directly through the normal trade window.

    Queue System Revamp

    Battlefield Queue System

    • Completely rebuilt the Battlefield queue system.
    • Access via /battle.
    • Eliminates the old ready-check system that frequently caused players to miss queue pops.
    • Once matching teams are found, every player is automatically teleported into the battlefield after a short countdown.

    Queue Types

Five matchmaking options are now available:

    • Solo
    • Duo
    • Trio
    • Squad
    • Group (4+)

Direct matchmaking is used for Solo, Duo, Trio, and Squad queues.

Group (4+) queues now use flexible matchmaking with a ±2 player variance, allowing larger groups to find matches much more consistently.

    Examples:

    • 6-player groups may match against 6-8 player teams.
    • 8-player groups may match against 6-10 player teams.

    Additional matchmaking improvements include:

    • Solo players may now join an already active battlefield if more than three minutes remain.

    New Battlefield Commands

    • Added /battlequit to leave active battlefields.
    • Added /battleforfeit allowing teams to vote to surrender.
    • Winning teams receive rewards only if the battle has lasted longer than five minutes.

    Looking For Group (LFG) System

    Automatic Group Finder

    • Added a brand-new LFG Queue System accessible through /instance.

    • Automatically builds balanced groups consisting of:

    • 1 Tank

    • 1 Healer

    • 1 Group Assistance (GA)

    • 5 DPS

    • Successfully matched groups are automatically formed and teleported into the selected instance.

    • Removed legacy prerequisites for classic instances.

    • Empire quests

    • Remembrance Day quests

    • City Invasion content

    Themepark Improvements

    • Updated text across multiple Mandalorian Themepark quests.

    Looking Ahead

During development of this update, a significant amount of engineering time was dedicated to modernizing the core technology that powers the game. These backend improvements—including the migration to a 64-bit server architecture, extensive performance optimizations, infrastructure upgrades, and continued development of the upcoming 64-bit DirectX 11 client—represent one of the largest technical overhauls the project has undergone.

As a result, the next five chapters of the Mandalorian Themepark were not able to make this patch. Rather than rush unfinished content, we've chosen to continue polishing these quests so they meet the quality we expect.

With the majority of the foundational engineering work now behind us, development can return to delivering new gameplay content at a much faster pace. The remaining Mandalorian Themepark chapters, along with the new 64-bit DirectX 11 client, are already well underway and are planned for an upcoming release.

Thank you to everyone who has continued testing, providing feedback, and supporting the project as we build a stronger foundation for the future of SWG Evolve.
