  • New GCW Token Rewards - Vehicles & Structures
    Q Quillian

Adding new rewards to the factional GCW vendors would be an easy way to add a new vehicle and pair of structures for which there is already existing code.

The AT-RT could be added to both Rebel and Empire GCW vendors.

The Rebel Spire could be added to the Rebel GCW vendor and the Emperor's Spire could be added to the Empire GCW vendor.

It would be refreshing to have new rewards offered by those vendors and it might even encourage more participation in GCW Invasions, at least for a short time.

Disclaimer - I am not a coder so I have no knowledge base for understanding whether or not it is easy to import items like those mentioned above.

    Droid Changes Proposal

Just as weapons were changed to be skins to allow more choice by players based on aesthetics instead of hard-coded stats, there should be the same options with droids to allow for greater variety of choice of what droid skin a player can choose without losing functionality.

Also, some of the advanced versions of the existing droids are not really all that advanced with very little being added to the base model. Most players are not going to bother with droids if they do not have functionality. To that, I propose either of the following changes and additions.

    Proposal 1
Add advanced versions of the following droids with the noted modules.

Battle Droid - Advanced: Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat Modules Only; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat & General Modules Only

Droideka - Advanced: Remove both Module - Droid Combat; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat Modules Only; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat & General Modules

Union Sentry Droid - Advanced: Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat Modules Only

Make these changes to the following droids

D270 - Advanced - Remove both Combat Capable Service Modules; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat Modules Only; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat & General Modules

Probot - Advanced - Remove both Combat Capable Service Modules; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat Modules Only; Add 1 Socket Cluster - Combat & General Modules

Protocol Droid - Advanced: Remove both of the Droid Service Module Harnesses; Add 2 Socket Cluster - General Modules Only

R2 Advanced, R4 Advanced, R5 Advanced - Remove both Combat Capable Service Modules; Add 2 Socket Cluster - Combat & General Modules

R3 Advanced - Add 1 Socket Cluster - General Modules Only

    Proposal 2
Add versions of all droids that can take 4 Socket Clusters with combinations of Combat Only, General Only, or Combat & General as appropriate for the droid type.

That is my main interest. DM me on discord a price.

However, I was also thinking about how the rewards on one particular vendor get stale when you have them all and was spitballing ideas for adding things new to a particular vendor without any additional work for the Dev team.

I will work on a suggestion then to look for new things to add to the game via ALL token vendors, with different rewards being added to different vendors. Anything already coded into the game like TCG loot is the easiest (relative term, I know) to add.

Do you have an example besides BF tokens, which are definitely being earned?

I just don't see a possibility of earning Entertainer tokens since players just make their own entertainers for buffs instead of seeking out another player.

Vendor searches for various things have been turning up empty, especially weapon schematics, so I made the assumption of No-Trade status on the tokens or a lack of player interest in doing the activities required to get certain rewards.

You can always post as WTB bf token items and/or hit up someone that is known for actively pvping. I know players on this server with hundreds of bf tokens.

Since I didn't see any BF tokens on vendors, I assumed they were no-trade like on Live.

I have to agree with NORD on this one. The only Tokens that are not tradeable are Trader, Entertainer, BH, FRS, and Mustafar Tokens. All other tokens / commendations are tradable. Even Midlithe Crystals and Chronicle tokens are tradable.

It is impossible to trade with players for things that they do not have. There are certain tokens in the game that are just not being earned.

Considering how many tokens are straight up tradeable, not to mention that the items purchased by them are as well, there is nothing prohibiting players from buying/selling with each other - that's the way that a player economy functions.

We don't need a token exchange. Just trade with your fellow players.

I have never seen the Battlefield Tokens up for sale on any server, ever. That is because they are no trade. That being said, It takes at least 4 players willing to grind battlefields over and over to earn enough tokens to make a purchase.

If Evolve had a population of 1000 players actively engaging in all aspects of the game, there would be no need for any token exchange. All of the tradeable rewards would be popping up on vendors everywhere. All of the tradeable tokens would be offered up on vendors, which essentially IS a token exchange that allows credits to be converted into tokens.

  • Limit GCW Invasion PVP area to combat phase only.
    Q Quillian

Even with the recent change to PVP, this is still an issue that needs to be addressed. While I really don't care about e-death, a determined player could effectively abort any defense for a GCW invasion by engaging crafters in combat before they can even get materials from the kiosk while the attacking faction can engage in PVP-free building of pylons outside of the invasion city.

This will essentially result in lots of flipping of GCW Cities through the points being earned solely by the attacking faction while the defending crafters just get to do a whole lot of dying with no points being earned.

Side Note - Requiring Defending Entertainers to be PVP just to refresh missions is also a bit much to ask. Yes, participating in GCW Invasions is a choice but the location of mission givers is not currently a choice. A simple fix for that would be to have an alternate location outside of the PVP zone around the defending General at which defending PVE players could refresh missions during the build phase AND combat phase.

  • Token Exchange
    Q Quillian

This is going to be a very controversial suggestion for some. I propose adding a vendor that would allow players to exchange one form of token or tokens for other ones. The rate of exchange should not be 1 to 1, regardless of direction, but based on a consensus of how much of doing X should equal doing y.

The reason for this proposal is based on some observations and facts.

First, there are types of tokens that are next to impossible to grind because few other players are ever willing to spend the amount of time it requires to earn certain tokens. Battlefields would be a prime example of an activity that wasn't even that easy to coordinate on Live. Even if one could get players to help grind those tokens, would that not defeat the intent of the activity? Battlefields were intended to be queued battles between random opponents who were more interested in winning the battle versus getting tokens. I would argue that there is no difference between 4 different players farming tokens together or 1 player using 4 characters to farm tokens.

Second, it is a fact that players like having access to rewards. They especially like it when an activity they enjoy gives tokens that let them choose their own rewards. However, the token vendors have limits on the number of items they sell for any particular token. Some servers have addressed this by adding additional rewards to the token vendors of the more popular activities that reward tokens. This takes time and effort to code new things into the game.

Instead of spending time creating new rewards, why not give players access to all of the rewards in the game already being offered from any vendor on a token economy? Allowing players to exchange one type of token for another essentially increases the variety of rewards for all activities. Having an exchange rate that is not 1 to 1 still preserves the efficiency of doing the original activity but doesn't lock anyone out from eventually accessing all of the cool things the game has to offer.

One caveat - I would recommend that Heroic Tokens only be something that could be exchanged for other tokens but no tokens could be exchanged for Heroic Tokens. It is easy enough to find groups to do the Heroics and there are even brave souls who can "solo" Heroics. The intent of this Token Exchange is to give players access to rewards that are just unobtainable due to a lack of enough player interest in doing the activities required to earn the tokens.

  • New Player Owned Structure - Tatooine "Alternate Cantina"
    Q Quillian

There are two examples of this building that I know of. One is in Anchorhead and contains the Rebel Recruiter and 2 Rebel Mission Terminals. The other is in Bestine and used to be considered as an alternate Cantina. (Something was changed that has removed the ability for entertainers to buff anyone in those buildings.)

Regardless of the status of the structure in NPC cities, it would be a cool building for players to be able to own and place. It is a 3-level building with 2 of the levels being subterranean, the only building besides the Mustafar bunker that has 2 underground levels.

The suggestion is simple, add it as an architect's single-use schematic that can be purchased with GCW tokens to add something spicy to those vendors.

  • Have Watto sell looted crafting components
    Q Quillian

Waiting on other players to be blessed by the RNG, regardless of whether in an instance or open world, for crafting components is an unnecessary time sink that makes crafting less enjoyable.

A simple solution to this would be to have Watto sell No-Trade versions of crafting components, like weapon augments or weapon enhancements, with a limit on the number of transactions a player can conduct with Watto in a specified time interval.

Watto could also be used to sell all sorts of things to players on a limited basis to serve as a credit sink to help drain credits from the economy. Regardless of other gates on income, determined players will accumulate wealth so credit, making voluntary credit sinks important to the economic health of the server.

Alternatively, the Trader Token vendor could be given the task of selling such components.

  • Pre-emptive GCW Invasion "Fix"
    Q Quillian

As the server population grows, more players may choose to participate in GCW Invasions. With a little determination, it actually doesn't take too many characters to get a complete build for the attack.

This can present problems on the server, especially with Keren and Dearic. Full builds attacking builds and half of a defensive build can reduce framerates to a slideshow. One fix from Live that is not present on Evolve was to despawn most of the MOBs and and every lair within the Invasion zone, especially those NPCs that cannot be attacked.

I would recommend that this adjustment be investigated to prevent a problem before it happens. It would make the GCW Invasion cities less cluttered with things that have nothing to do with the invasion and keep framerates running smoothly.

  • Limit GCW Invasion PVP area to combat phase only.
    Q Quillian

Having a mandatory PVP area in the GCW Invasion cities is a great innovation that every server should explore. However, there are several issues with the PVP area being active during the build phase.

    1. Combat interrupts crafting. It would be simple to abort a defense just by targeting and engaging a crafter.
    2. Any build that includes Trader is going to be inferior to any pure PVP combat build, automatically putting Trader builds at a disadvantage.
    3. Defending crafters have to go SF just to build, attacking crafters do not. Attacking crafters get to enjoy PVP-free crafting, Defending crafters not so much.
    4. Entertainers are required to visit the Defending General to refresh 2 of 3 missions available to them. Any build with Entertainer is going to be inferior to a pure PVP build.

The simplest solution would be to limit the zone enforcement to the Combat Phase only. As for the Entertainers, perhaps changing how or where they can get their missions refreshed would be the only reasonable way to be fair to those with such builds.

  • Increasing PVE Threats
    Q Quillian

I have observed well-spec'd players making PVE threats look like paper dolls and had a friend complain about watching a single player take down turrets and the GCW General without taking any real damage.

Having content be trivialized because players can make builds that are invulnerable to anything but another player is not healthy for the game. I would not be surprised to read of players even being able to solo all group content like heroics without breaking a sweat by having an uber-build.

The real question is how to increase the challenge of PVE for such players without putting it out of reach of the mere mortals.

  • Add Resource Crate to Trader Token Vendor
    Q Quillian

Since quality resources are critical to traders, it would make sense to have a resource crate available for purchase on the Trader Token vendor. Of course, limitations would be necessary for the obvious reasons of possible abuse.

This could be accomplished by simply having the resource crate be in an item box that is once per account. Any number of such boxes could be added to the Trader Token vendor with an incremental increased token cost if the community believed that having more resource crates in the hands of crafters would be a good thing.
