Bounty Hunter Overhaul Proposal: Tiered Power Progression & Target Rewards System
If you like listening to me ramble on in voice about BH and Jedi, try this out. We introduce a tiered progression system that allows Bounty Hunters (BHs) to scale in power and rewards as they complete missions, gain ranks, and take on more dangerous targets. Power, prestige, and payout are tied to the **difficulty of the target, **whether they're a high-ranking Jedi, a Sith, or a decorated officer in the GCW.
Tier 1: Initiate Hunter
- Access to basic bounties (unranked players, low-level GCW officers, novice Force users).
- Limited token rewards.
- Basic access to vendor gear (e.g., tracking tools, basic armor components, low-tier cosmetic items).
- Requirements: Default upon unlocking the BH terminal.
Tier 2: Veteran Hunter
- Targets now include mid-tier GCW officers and FRS Rank 2-5 Force users.
- Rewards increased.
- Unlock access to exclusive armor layers (see: Lightsaber resistance, Force-electrical damage resistance).
- Requirements: Complete 25 Tier 1 missions + 10 successful PvP bounty completions.
Tier 3: Elite Hunter
- High-profile targets: FRS Rank 4-6 and GCW Command ranks.
- Bounties now show dynamic risk and reward based on target prestige.
- Unlock unique vendor cosmetics (e.g., Mandalorian-style jetpack variants, upgraded helmet visuals).
- BH-only passive perks become available (e.g., +5% resist Force stuns or Force accuracy debuff aura).
- Requirements: 35 Tier 2 missions + GCW Rank 4+.
Tier 4: Apex Hunter (Prestige Track)
- Access to Legendary Contracts: Track Jedi Masters/Sith Lords or Grand Moffs/Generals.
- Bounties are rare and high-stakes (target gets a system-wide alert).
- Rewards: Massive token payouts, unique titles ("Shadow Fang", "Jedi Executioner"), or even rare schematics.
- Requirements: Faction-aligned prestige, GCW Rank 7+, FRS Rank 5 (if also Force-sensitive), etc.

The Bounty Hunter Token Vendor evolves alongside the hunter. New tiers unlock:
- Tiered Armor Mods: Resistance to Lightsaber, Force Lightning, Mind Trick, etc.
- Bounty Hunter Cloaks & Mandalorian Themed Cosmetics.
- Weapon Customizations: Unique blaster skins, disruptors, or carbonite-themed effects.
- Utility Gear: Droid-scramblers, enhanced trackers, jetpack fuel cells.
- Hunter Legacy Trees: Optional skill upgrades outside the standard expertise trees (pure PvP perks).

Tie bounty targets to real-time metrics:
- If a Jedi/Sith player has killed 3+ players in the last 48 hours, they become a "High Threat" target.
- BHs see “bounty bonuses” listed dynamically.
- BHs can pool tokens for high-profile targets and trigger cooperative hunts (new PvP content loop).
đź§
This overhaul introduces power creep through progression, but regulates it by:
- Tying benefits to PvP success.
- Keeping top-tier rewards gated by achievements or rank.
- Providing counters (e.g., Jedi can purchase anti-tracking buffs or use decoys).

This system creates:
- A BH career path with actual progression.
- More reason for Jedi/Sith to hide, defend, or play strategically.
- Deeper GCW integration, making BHs more relevant in faction warfare.
- A use for tokens beyond cosmetics, promoting real PvP gameplay loops.

What I don't get is you want them to add more FRS ranks(6-9)?
for the High Threat That should be if Jedi wins over a attacking BH? If you include GCW or PVP events, You will need to add to regular combat Characters.
I mistyped - fixed that! Thanks, And yes GCW would include regular toons at higher ranks (usually meaning more experienced players)

Also, I believe you’ll be targeting the less skilled players more frequently this time. This will turn off some player don’t really pvp. Also you can’t make it that only two classes are the only thing to play. I would say have a few style that can beat top tier with gear out first. To see how it runs. I was planning on trying whatever set at. But it’s only because I want to make the armor.
You’ll also need to figure out a new type of layer since resistance is set differently. So, you might need to experiment with that.
Adding new armor is easy. But figuring out the right stuff to add for it. Must test bunch of style to see whats good around.
I think the system need to have work out a setup that work good so testing will need to be done. Since you should also have separate skill tree like Jedi.
Like the idea just need some adjustment.

I don't think it would target the less skilled, or less PvP interested players at all, I mean, bounties today are mostly on the people who engage in consistent PvP, not just the guy who wants to play his own game. So it should be going after the same people you already can, right?
Additionally, the PVE BH terminal missions, will offer a smaller, more manageable progression experience, allowing players to earn them that way as well.
Lastly, the in-place rez from being bountied leaves the target with nothing lost. Not even a trip to the cloner, so what is it that is making people upset with being bounty hunted?
Always appreciate your feedback brotha! Keep it coming.

BH having their own progression system would put this server even more ahead than it already is in regard to the combat system. With that, you'll attract a lot more BHs. People who don't hunt will bitch and complain. So it's imperative this gets it right. Bounty Hunters should be the most feared in the galaxy. Not because of their power, but because of the tools at their disposal.
The increased difficulty is a great idea. However, even an Initiate Hunter should be able to pick up a high-tier target in the hopes that they're AFK or dueling, or simply outplay them and he/she can snag them up for a good leap in their progression. Keep the terminals as they are. Maybe an Apex Hunter wants to show his student the ropes and bring them along on harder targets. Taking down a higher-tier target grants more rewards. BH tokens, BH progression xp, etc.
Any and all upgrades from expertise/progression system and vendor should be ***LOCKED BEHIND MASTER BH. ***We don't want people grinding up the best non-FRS skills just to drop them and keep the rewards. Nah. This is the way, you're in it. That being said. The BH progression system should be locked as it is for Jedi. Don't want to BH anymore? That's fine, delete your character and start a new one. Now that new character could still pick up BH but would never be able to enter the progression system and be significantly downgraded from what they were.
Bounty combat. You all know my stance on this. My opinion is it should lock the attacker and target into combat with each other only. No player outside of the mission can assist in damage or healing. Up to 3 BHs can have the same mission (current). It is extremely rare on this server to see 2+ person hunt. Its nearly impossible as is to take down a full FRS build and having their teammates healing them doesn't need to be going on.
Upgrades/rewards. Mimic the FRS system so we don't have to drop expertise to pick up new modifiers. We don't need more attacks, just more stats. Force damage mitigation, lightsaber damage reduction, pvp stats, etc. The BH vendor is lacking with content and this is a great opportunity to boost it up. BLCs/PLCs placed on there as rewards. Force damage, lightsaber damage, etc mitigation in the form of modifier bits so they can be placed into armor. Rewards currently on there can remain for non-system BHs. But once you commit to the system "for life" you're available to purchase the modifiers listed above. I would not place Mando armor schematics on there as the liquids for the armor would be on there anyway, go down to the DWB and earn your shit.
The pampering from the crying players was crazy several months ago and they got what they wanted in regard to not being impacted by a hunt. If you do not have BH, you will ***NOT ***receive BH tokens. Even if you defeat a BH, you will not receive tokens. Get rid of that. Rezec and the team went to great lengths to minimize the inconvenience of being hunted as is. Respawning in place 0.5 seconds after dying to a BH? Should be enough for you to move about your day.
Bounties in space. While having the ability to dock with your target's ship is badass I don't think it should be allowed. Grind your space, build your ship, and take them down in your ship. What would a BH do in the movies if their target was in a fighter? Can't dock with it, blast the mf apart. And for those worried about your target in a POB or gunship, learn to play. There are ways to still blow them up.
Jedi dying to a BH. Should have some sort of penalty but not too harsh or people will cry. In the old days, if you died to a BH you were reset. We don't want that here (myself included). Jedi who die to a BH should have lost FRS xp. I think the current rate for Jedi to rank up is 10,000 FRS a week. Maybe make it a 2,500 loss for dying to a BH? So if you're playing your Jedi on Wednesday and you're capped and die, you better play your ass off to make it up before Thursday rank ups.
Everyone's opinions will always be a little biased. If they say anything else they're lying. I know mine are biased. What I've said above is just how I think we could improve the second-most iconic class in the Star Wars universe. BHs against non-frs isn't a big problem and that is in a good place. All these upgrades stated above are ways to improve a BHs (currently slim) chance to kill a Jedi. The modifiers gained in this system should not have any impact on non-frs players.

I would never want it to lock it to one person you need to fight others BH for the kills you to slow and have no right to claim It. I don't care if you have it 10vs 1 jedi kill the guy and move on. But would say have a time period to replace a bounty on the person so can't get kill over and over.
I great how you have the BH for the ones who fail to kill the Bounty, Why can't the defender get something if they sell for whatever itesm they get.
You don't want jedi to lose any FRS. I don't want to playing that same class all the time. I want to be able to use of my other combact toons now some GCW thats ok since we all get that. plus it can work both ways.
But I think if you make some better the Mando Armor you should have to kill and get a crafter to make it some location.

Meet in the middle. If a player is grouped when you attack them, their group can assist. But if they are not grouped, nobody can assist. And they can't get invited to group mid-fight. Lock the group invitations during combat.
Defender can absolutely get something for killing the BH. Just not BH tokens. Maybe a randomized OG token or something.

But you can have 2 or 3 groups attack you if one have the mission, I mean only if they all grab your mission the Cap will 10 on people who grab it so no one can hold on to a mssion to save themself or someone they know. Have to think of all angels. So than no group work. If you setup lower make it 5 have your BH mission but I can few small groups. Will never get that high now but you want to wipe the Jedi off the face of the plaent. You need to go all out.
If you kill the BH coming for you should get a BH token. Come on just kill the bloody Jedi! no need to worry about them getting one.
The group things its fine now as it is.

Obviously a great framework, my only concern will be any outrageous power increasing stat increases that may entice some folks into finding ways to cheat...prestigious items and title rewards are cool to display and for reputation status. Slight increases to pvp only and bh stats/abilities would be more my cup of tea similiar to the FRS jedi system....they are great, but not worth cheating the system for. I definitely like this well thought out format, it would also be cool to incorporate this system format (if implemented) for a smuggler underworld system.

I second this; small, targeted boosts similar to the FRS system would make a lot of sense. Like I mentioned in voice, the real problem with BH isn’t raw damage output — it’s defense.
On top of that, Hellion brought up a great point that ties into this line:
“Bounty Hunters should be the most feared in the galaxy. Not because of their power, but because of the tools at their disposal.”I love this concept and it’s exactly how we should be rethinking how profession expertises works for BHs. Instead of just stuffing them full of generic FRS-style stat boxes, why not focus on expanding their toolkit? Imagine a full revamp of bomb droids, tracking droids, and even combat droids — like a droid that can apply a snare debuff on a timer, or even dires if they cost rare mats to create(like ones from the new hardmode or future hardmodes).
Not only does this give the BH class a more unique, tactical playstyle, but it’s a perfect excuse to boost the crafting economy too, since these droids could all be consumable. BHs already rake in credits from bounties, so needing to regularly restock their gear is totally in character — and it adds depth instead of just flat stat creep.
Obviously, this should all be locked behind Master BH, but it fits nicely with past ideas about overhauling droids anyway. Plus, it could tie in well with Rezec’s new droid profession idea — a win for crafters and a fresh identity for BHs.

Agreed, that's why the system I proposed is not giving free stats at each rank. Just item unlocks, which would be in a horizontal way against matchups and bounties. Not vertical power creep, but think more of a power slide. Think like GCW ranks, allowing stronger weapons, armor, etc. This would be ideally the same.
That way, Jedi remain strong via a decay-based FRS system, and the BHs have more Lore-based bounty tools to deploy.
Ship parts could be added as well for the shipwright to recraft for in-space bounty hunting.
(side note -make Jedi when FRS 6 and killed in combat become a force ghost for an hour, can only roam around handing out sagely wisdom. )

Overview
This proposal outlines an enhancement to the Bounty Hunter (BH) system, aimed at expanding gameplay progression, encouraging PvP and PvE engagement, and introducing a structured reward and equipment system through the creation of the Bounty Hunters Guild Ranking System (BHGRS). The system draws inspiration from the Force Ranking System (FRS), but is uniquely tailored to the Bounty Hunter profession.

**Key Features of the BHGRS- Ranking System (Ranks 1–6)**
-
Players advance through ranks by completing bounties (PvE and PvP).
-
PvP Bounties award 2x credit toward ranking progression.
-
Rank Progression Requirements:
-
Rank 1 – 10 Bounties
-
Rank 2 – 25 Bounties
-
Rank 3 – 50 Bounties
-
Rank 4 – 100 Bounties
-
Rank 5 – 150 Bounties
-
Rank 6 – 200 Bounties
-
Rank Decay: 10% decay per week to encourage continued activity.
-
Ranks do not unlock skills directly but instead permit access to exclusive gear.

**2. Gear and Equipment ProgressionGuild-Specific Gear Access**
- Access to new armor and weapon enhancement components via Bounty Hunters Guild NPC vendors.
- Purchased with BH Tokens or Credits (credits-based purchases priced significantly to maintain exclusivity).
Crafting Integration
- Enhancement components are used by Armorsmiths to create new "baked-in" stat gear.
- These baked-in stats require specific BHGRS ranks to equip.
- Encourages an evolving toolset unique to each bounty hunter.
Skill Mod Examples (profession-specific):
- Force Lightning Resistance
- Jedi Saber Damage Mitigation
- Enhanced Tracking

3. Space Bounty Integration- Enable space-based bounty hunting.
- Upon defeat by a Bounty Hunter, a target is ported to the nearest space station for repairs.
- No mission progression loss; ensures immersion without punishing targets excessively.

4. Group Bounty Hunting-
Enable cooperative bounty hunting with scalable rewards:
-
1 Bounty Hunter: Full BH Tokens and BHGRS Credit.
-
2 Bounty Hunters: Split BH Tokens and BHGRS Credit in half.
-
3+ Bounty Hunters: No BHGRS Credit or Tokens, but tokens split among the group.
-
Promotes group play while maintaining the prestige and value of solo hunts.

ConclusionThis proposal introduces a compelling, scalable, and rewarding expansion to the Bounty Hunter profession. The Bounty Hunters Guild Ranking System adds meaningful long-term progression and prestige, fosters interdependence between combat and crafting professions, and diversifies gameplay across both ground and space environments.
By encouraging both solo and cooperative playstyles, and offering unique profession-driven gear customization, the BHGRS has the potential to become a flagship feature of SWG Evolve’s bounty hunter experience.

I’m quite certain Rezec mentioned that our version doesn’t allow for the creation of enchantments. If it’s possible, it would be beneficial to include it.
However, here’s an idea to circumvent this limitation: we could introduce a skill that enables the creation of poison items that can be thrown or applied to provide additional defenses or directly deal non-blocking damage.
This feature would be exclusive to damage Jedi characters Only. Additionally, we could include another item that can be purchased and crafted to the vendor.

Yes, I agree, for the underworld system as well!! It provides players who enjoy role-based, lore-driven gameplay with more depth to their chosen playstyle.
That's brilliant, and I didn't think about that!

Add a language that Bounty Hunters can learn using purchased BH tokens or obtained via the new Bounty Hunters Guild Ranking System (BHGRS). This would add some lore while also making it possible for BH's to plan and communicate in chat and the other players won't know what the BH's are saying.
