I’d like to propose a new layer material that adds both lore-friendly and gameplay-enhancing depth to the crafting system and profession synergy between Bounty Hunters and Armorsmiths.

    Concept:

Introduce a layer material available exclusively from the Bounty Hunter (BH) vendor ( have to be master BH to use) that can be used by Armorsmiths to craft Mandalorian armor pieces with added resistances against:

    • Lightsaber damage
    • Force electrical damage (e.g. Force Lightning)

    Details:

    • The material would function similarly to existing crafting layers, providing a unique resistance stat when included in armor crafting.
    • Only usable in Mandalorian armor schematics, preserving its thematic tie to anti-Jedi warfare and BH lore.
    • Can be traded or sold, creating economic value and cross-profession interaction.
    • Could be named something immersive like Beskar-Weave Conductive Layer or Ionic Pulse Baffler.

    Why this makes sense:

    • It enhances the fantasy of Bounty Hunters preparing to hunt Force-users.
    • It gives Armorsmiths more flexibility and incentive to craft for PvP scenarios involving Jedi/Sith.
    • It ties into Star Wars canon (Mandalorians and their tech are historically anti-Jedi).
    • It adds horizontal progression instead of just power creep.

Would love to hear the devs’ and community’s thoughts on this idea. I think this would be a great way to deepen profession interplay and open up more build diversity for Mandalorian armor users.

Thank you, Avaer, for yet another fantastic suggestion! This is a well-thought-out idea that not only fits perfectly within Star Wars lore but also adds meaningful depth to the crafting system and profession synergy. Introducing a BH-exclusive layer that enhances Mandalorian armor against Jedi abilities is a great way to promote balance in Jedi vs. Bounty Hunter encounters, while also creating more economic and gameplay interaction between professions.

We really appreciate the consistent thought and creativity you bring to the tableand more importantly, the time and help you give to countless players in-game. You're truly a valuable member of the SWG Evolve community, and your contributions continue to make a real impact.

Looking forward to seeing more of your ideas, and definitely taking this one into serious consideration!

That’s a good idea. However, have to improve Jedi too. (They are weak)
-Give the an ability to outplay the BH called I’m no jedi. So Jedi can attack the BH who as the mission. To stop the long wait for them to attack.
-Layer should ingnore defenses on armor since Lightsabers should hurt.

        • Layer to add heal potency. Great for healing Jedi
          -Layer for improve saber block.
-Put the JEDI layer on the Jedi vender.

Than add a special way for Mandarolians crafting to happen like at special forage you need group to defend well it’s crafting in the tool.

Right now the game does NOT actually have Lightsaber Damage in those terms. This existed PreNGE as a separate damage type from Kinetic/Energy and only Mandalorian Armor had protections against it. Something like this coming back would severely overpower Lightsaber Damage in the current system since current Armor without this attachment would be useless against Lightsabers.

I personally have to disagree with the idea that Jedi are weak. From my own experience, and from talking with other veteran Bounty Hunter players, we often end up tracking the same Jedi targets over and over because they’re so strong and consistently survive encounters. I've even seen situations where one well-built Jedi was able to take out four BHs in a group, which is no small feat.

Like with any class, a character’s strength comes down to a combination of template, gear, and most importantly player skill. Jedi, statistically speaking, are not underpowered. They’re a high-skill class that can be extremely effective in the right hands.

That said, it’s always good to explore ideas that encourage balance, build diversity, and meaningful gameplay for all professions.

It’s balanced now, and there’s nothing wrong with adding that to the BH. You’d be adding something to help the Jedi. What I’m saying is that they should be able to go evil and strike first. Adding more healing is good because you can stop or nerf it as a BH.

What you can do is change to a Jedi. You have to place points into its saber type. That’s how you would bring a Jedi down a bit. Than they would would be less points in other places. That only changes since you gave points from the forum changes.

Tdeadly, I love you man, but Jedi are not weak - I was fighting 5 v 1 in a BF just the other day and winning.

I wasn't advocating for LS damage to come in -

Also, what do these do then if not LS damage?

These are the extremely generic damages like pistol damage, rifle damage, etc that mostly just affect auto attack damage and some of the specials, not every special attack gets adjusted by the weapon damage more than just a base 1%.

PreNGE Lightsaber Damage was a separate resistance other than Energy

Essentially what I am getting at with that type of damage is that protection against that is no different from tank stance in that it protects against all damage.
