Consolidate buffs
-
Observation: 4-5 rows of buffs is quite hard to parse through when in the thick of combat looking for certain key things that are happening. This would be helped by reducing the number of buffs present.
Suggestion: Merge common buffs that are almost always used together into a single buff
- 7 Doctor buffs into 1
- 3 main squad leader buffs into 1 (excludes Experienced Leadership)
- Merge the 9 banner buffs into 1 (When granted via General Banner. General Banner buff to block Captain banner buffs.)
These 3 changes would cut down the visual clutter significantly, making combat status much more legible. It would also allow us to make buff icons larger without exploding the UI with often useless info.
I'm definitely not the first to suggest this, but wanted to formalize it here

Btw some situations that this helps make easier to comprehend:
- Smugglers monitoring Feeling Lucky and Lucky Break procs
- Seeing when self-applied defensives or other major buffs expire
- Watching for opponent's defense abilities or major buffs to reactor against
- Easier to see Debuffs/DoTs when they are not the 6th row of information

I believe Buff striping was removed so that not an issue unless it will be allowed again. I not fan of combining them together. Incase they do have a boss in a future instance or world boss. That strips or temporarily take it away.
Maybe they can change color of player names or something to show you have a debuff on you.

This kinda plays into this post https://www.swgevolve.com/index.php?threads/1200/

Permanent buff stripping has been decidedly against the general philosophy Evolve is striving for, any mechanic like that is unlikely. As for a temporary buff strip, such a mechanic would be pointless with so many buffs today and so would not really event be viable to explore, so I would argue this change would make such a mechanic even existing feasible

The issue I see with this would be when Combat Medic's start buff stripping it becomes easier to lose high value buffs.
Yes, Purge was removed for PvP, so no worries there

It does! I almost linked to it as a sister suggestion

But adding buffs or debuffs together. Would that make removing one single buff hard to do if it setup that way? Then if you canβt click on it to remove single buff. Plus what if you have a buff together. How would you be able to do that if you want to mess around.
Also than why is it in the HK fight end. You lose buff in PVE? With the buff striping. That is Permanent taking off. Yes I know itβs pointless to change it. But you do lose your stuff during that fight in the instance. Always happens to me when I go and solo it.

well in this case, I don't see any issues with combining them, All the medic buffs down to 1, and all the officer buffs down to 1 would be a good start.
