Proposal: Space Queued Battlefields
-
Overview
This proposal outlines the implementation of **Space Queued. **A new, dynamic system that expands endgame space content for master pilots. These battlefields aim to provide thrilling PvP experiences, rewarding skilled space combatants with exclusive items while encouraging community engagement and long-term progression.

Eligibility Requirements-
Master Pilot Status Required: Only players who have achieved Master Pilot rank in any faction (Imperial, Rebel, or Freelance) are eligible to enter.
-
Ship Classes Permitted:
-
Fighters (standard)
-
POBs
-
Gunboats
-
Note: POBs and Gunboats will be queued against similarly scaled opposition to maintain balance.

Queue System-
Accessed via a new “Join Space Battlefield Queue” command in the player’s space command toolbar.
-
While queued:
-
Players may freely navigate space and engage in other space activities.
-
Landing on a planet or exiting to the ground will automatically remove the player from the queue.
-
Queues require a minimum of 3 vs 3 players to start; scale dynamically up to 16 vs 16.

Battlefield Mechanics-
On entering a battlefield:
-
Ships are automatically fully repaired.
-
Players may form groups inside the battlefield after entry.
-
On exit, ships are again repaired to promote seamless re-entry and continued space play.
-
Random Game Mode Rotation (with more to come):
-
Team Slayer – Standard team-vs-team kill count match.
-
Free for All Slayer – Every pilot for themselves.
-
Capture the Flag – Team-based CTF in space.
-
King of the Hill – Dominate and hold a marked region of space.
-
Additional creative game types can be added based on player feedback and design capabilities.

Rewards & Progression-
Winning individuals or teams are awarded Space Battlefield Tokens.
-
Tokens can be redeemed at a new Space Battlefield Token Vendor offering:
-
Rare ship parts
-
Cosmetic ship skins
-
Unique titles or badges
-
Exclusive components or vanity items for advanced players

Development Considerations- Matchmaking Logic: Ensure fair matching between ship types (e.g., POB vs POB).
- Battlefield Maps: Design specialized space zones or use existing sectors with controlled boundaries.
- Queue Management UI: Provide players with queue status and team balance indicators.

Benefits to SWG Evolve- Provides endgame content for space players, promoting progression and retention.
- Encourages community-driven PvP and inter-faction rivalry.
- Adds meaningful rewards and prestige to space combat.
- Offers a scalable foundation for future content updates.

Closing NotesThe Space Queued Battlefields system aims to breathe new life into the space game of SWG Evolve, honoring the deep pilot mechanics while adding modern PvP structure and rewards. With a blend of competitive fairness, community involvement, and progression incentives, this feature will become a cornerstone of the space meta on Evolve.

For a small community, matchmaking might not be possible. But maybe something like chess scoring where you can improve your PvP skill rating with each fight, but winning against inferior opponents grants little to no increase while winning against a superior one could grant a lot.
Also, I would recommend that anything which is instances be kept short. Probably 10 minutes. If its too lopsided, most people don't want to be locked in for a long period.
Love the idea of different match modes that can emphasize things other than just straight out who can kill who the fastest!

I love the input thank you, and I agree no longer than 10 minutes would be a good idea. I think the ground battlefields would benefit from this as well.
