BH Upgrades

These are just things going through my mind, so some of them might be "stupid".
- How about making Tangle Bomb similiar to the other traps and add a DOT to it, but maybe an action dot tick similiar to a lizard pet.
- How about changing Burn to add a fire DOT...you could make the initial damage lower and speed up its reset time so to add a stackable DOT (you could possible rename it Torso Shot as a nod to the PreCu ability).
- How about adding an additional sprint that is a slightly lesser version of FR.
- You could make Cripple a cone attack for more group crowd control.
- How about improving Preparation, maybe add an extra box/line for an increase in duration or a chance for a quicker reset...add more of a defense debuff (call it Eye Shot as a nod to the PreCU ability)?
- Fumble, Intimidate, Dread Shot could all get an update.

im not opposed to any of these things. They dont seem over the top or completely game breaking. i'd like to see bounty hunter get some love. It would also maybe help with people investing more points into it rather than dipping just to be able to hunt.
-
Exactly...it should be able to stand on it's own as a legitimate skilled profession. I have a couple of BHs one master for dires and Reveal, but she is a little weak at the 1v1, so I also have the dipper for a chance to take down some higher skilled bounties...it would be nice to get rid of the need to dip or at least, make it more beneficial to dip more into the class

I agree with mediocre, BH could use some love. I don't find its competitive with the other advanced classes.
I love the idea of bringing back torso shot, BH in CU had a few status attacks like confusion shot and eye shot as well. May be able to built these into the existing debuffs BH has?
To build on Mediocre's idea of a sprint to keep up with Jedi force run, I actually think a sort of interdict ability could be really cool. Jedi running away every time gets annoying.
This will probably be unpopular. For Tangle bomb, you may not want all traps to do the same things. Or else your just spamming identical abilities. I don't use them as much but had them on a macro to throw them all out without a care, I would prefer something more intentional to suit a specific purpose. Make them impactful choices, maybe even put all traps on a CD? They can be a really impactful facet of group and solo PvP.
Though, I think the main problems with BH are a lot of the point investment are not on par with Smuggler/Assassin/Commando etc.
- Novice BH (4 points) only gives droid find specific stats.
- Absorption gives 250 kinetic protection per point. Compared to other professions that can give 250k for all protection or 500 for kinetic and energy each.
- Deflection gives 500 energy protection, better but still not as good as other professions. You could merge both those boxes together and it would be an okay investment.
- Traps have a ton of point investment to get running.
- Cripple investment is 8 points, doesn't seem worth it when other classes have similar abilities for one point investment. AoE could be nice to addition here.
- You need to spec into a taunt to get access to stun.
- Manhunter gives 2% ST per point, that is affected by DRs when I tested it. Since its late into BH, you could add another stat increase to it or double the values?

I like most of the ideas, but yeah, I’m not a fan of this :p. The Razor net is so easy to see and for people to avoid unless you and the guy you are fighting are right on top of each other. (In yesterday’s PvP, the Dire Razor net was being used as a way to keep the Jedi from running in, like a wall, since everyone could easily see it and knew to avoid it.) Now, the idea Rezec has for making one of them a thrown trap, I could maybe see that one going along with this idea.
(also I like Rezec's idea)
edit: just noticed it said Tangle bomb not razor net my bad
I'll keep my mistakeHistorical reactions: Like × 1

I like this idea of different traps do different things. How do we feel about changing one of the traps to being a thrown trap kind like that Smuggler ability? Throw it out a target and then stun the people in its radius?
Having a thrown trap would suit a BH very well both lore wise and in game machinal wise. Having it behave much like the flash bang where the effect only goes off once it lands so if the target is moving fast they can avoid it if actively paying attention which would pair well if they are snared and cant escape it.

The BH skill tree had quite a few updates in the last major patch and some more BH System related things will be coming with our world boss release, like the reintroduction of the improved "reveal". How do you guys feel about the current state of BH abilities and skill tree?

It definitely stands on its own now, the Block/Glance Reduction hurts. Shields seems to be a staple for many players in PVP combat, rest of the defense cooldown abilities from other professions do not compare to what Shields provides. With carefully timed buffs/debuffs from preparation and underhand shot, players can wipe out generally 1/3 of other players life pool if not more in 6 seconds allowing the BH to take out most marks before the mark has time to react. Well done.

BH by itself, in my opinion, needs absolutely nothing. We’ve got great offensive abilities. Great defensive.
The only two things I would look into is Fumble and the Stun (can’t remember the name). Fumble being reworked to a decreased chance to hit, Crit hit defense to the caster, increased chance to receive Crit hits, etc would be stellar. The stun doesn’t actually stun. If that were reworked similar to a real stun like flashbang (with a recourse, and single target) it’d be worth taking.

I have a question does that new multi snare bh attack work with the dire set?
No, it does not activate a dire affect.

The tree is well done. I agree with Hellion on Stun
