Ayusaru's How To Reverse Engineer and Create Attachments

This is a basic breakdown on how to reverse engineer in SWG Evolve, there is a number of QoL updates that have been made to speed up the process and save resources.
This guide assumes you have already leveled up a crafter to and obtained all Reverse Engineer Expertise.

There is four sections I want to focus on
1. Maximize Reverse Engineering
2. Preparing to Reverse Engineer
3. Creating Power Bits, Attachments
4. PuP's (Powerups) and Weapon/Armor Power Bits



Section 1 - Maximize Reverse Engineering
Huge QoL (Quality of Life) here, from the Reverse Engineer Expertise alone you get 160 Reverse Engineering Chance, and 700 Luck. This is enough to prevent Power Bits from dropping.
We want more, the goal is to push Reverse Engineering Chance and Luck as high as we possibly can in order to have the greatest gains in the fewest steps.

First get all the Reverse Engineer Expertise, to do this you need to craft items to obtain crafting experience and use that experience to allocate Reverse Engineer Expertise.

Second need a Reverse Engineering Tool with Experimentation Bonus 10%, easiest to obtain by purchase from another player.
Weapon Bit Tool and also a Armor Bit Tool, these are used to create special Power Bits for Baked in Stats on Weapons and Armor. (Obtained from the Trader Token Vendor).

Third get Expert Reverse Engineer's Jewelry set, this is obtainable by obtaining Trader Tokens and purchasing from the Trader Token Vendor in Mos Eisley on planet Tatooine.
/way tatooine 3516 0 -4838 Trader Token Vendor;
To obtain Trader Tokens you need to craft items, size does not matter, you can only obtain a token every few minutes then there is a cooldown before you can obtain another one.

Fourth get a Cybernetic Deconstruction Arm, this is a collection from surveying (Not with a Universal Survey Tool), as you get samples a menu will pop up asking if you want to find a High Quality resource, YES. Complete the collections with each survey tool to be rewarded with the Cybernetic Deconstruction Arm.

Fifth obtain a suit with Luck and Reverse Engineering Chance.
Embroidered Sash (77 Luck from Empire Day) or Belt of Bodo Baas (50 Luck), these are wearable container.
Bandolier (35 Luck) or Belt (35 Luck), these share with respective slot of wearable container.
Cybernetic Deconstruction Arm (110 Luck, 5 Reverse Engineering Chance).
5 Piece Jewelry Set (275 Luck, 25 Reverse Engineering Efficiency, 25% Increased Reverse Engineering Efficiency).
7 Piece Armor Suit ((35 Luck each piece, chest has 3 Reverse Engineering Chance, 1 Reverse Engineering Chance Baked In). Note you have Cybernetic Deconstruction Arm that replaces 2 pieces of Armor.
1 Weapon (35 Luck, 3 Reverse Engineering Chance, 1 Reverse Engineering Chance Baked In)
1 Shirt (35 Luck, 3 Reverse Engineering Chance).
3 PuPs (11 Reverse Engineering Chance) Weapon, Clothing, Armor.
Food Deenelian Fizz Pudding (200+ Luck)
Entertainer Inspiration Buff (300 Luck)
Smuggler GCW Flag Buff (100 Luck)
Smuggler Off the Books Buff (50 Luck)
2 Optional buffs to push Luck, Revitalization Pack or Shard of Retaliation (200 Luck), and High Morale Victory (Mustafar Droid Army Heroic Completion Reward 200 Luck, 1hr).
The suit will improve the odds of hitting perfect PuP creation.



Section 2 - Preparing to Reverse Engineer
Huge QoL here, you will need many Modifier Bits to create +35 Power Bits, ordinarily this would require you to obtain a bunch of junk dealer loot and use a reverse engineering tool to create a Modifier Bit, here thou we just need a little bit of metal and a crafting tool. (Note it still is necessary to obtain rare Modifier Bits such as Reverse Engineering Chance and Experimenation and Assembly from junk dealer loot).
We will be using many Stat Modifier Bits such as Agility, it is very beneficial to create a schematic and process Equipment Factory runs of Stat Modifier Bits.

You will notice in my inventory I have crates of Stat Modifier Bits that are from a Equipment Factory run. You will also notice I have a bunch of Combatant Rings these I will be reverse engineering in Section 3, this leads to the second thing we need a lot of Statted items from hunting mobs.

We need a lot of Statted items to Reverse Engineer, +21 stat on a item is a good starting point, +25 is better. We also need items with 3 stats in order to created 3rd Order Power Bits. Those Combatant Rings you loot from the Daily Challenge provide both +25 stat and 3 stats and are perfect for Reverse Engineering.



Section 3 - Creating Power Bits, Attachments
Another huge QoL here, we used to have to create a Power Bit combine the Power Bit with a Modifier Bit to create an attachment, then place the attachment on a piece of gear that has a socket, then place that item back into the Reverse Engineering Tool to be Reverse Engineered again to boost the Power Bit to a higher +Stat. That piece of gear is no longer necessary, we can just place the attachment into the Reverse Engineering Tool and Reverse Engineer it again.

Step 1.
Place a Combatant Ring (or statted gear) into the Reverse Engineering Tool

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Reverse Engineer. This created a +31 3rd Order Power Bit (varies, Luck and Reverse Engineering Chance improves how high the stat can go each reverse engineering attempt).

Step 2.
Place +31 3rd Order Power Bit and a Stat Modifier Bit into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Skill Enhancing Attachment.

Step 3.Place the +31 Statted Attachment and place it into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Reverse Engineer once more. (Note you may need to do Step 1-3 multiple times to create a +35 Power Bit).

Step 4.
+35 2nd Order Power Bit, but we need 1x +35 3rd Order Power Bit and 2x +35 2nd Order Power Bit (Note you could have 1x 1st Order and 1x 2nd Order) to create a 3 Stat Attachment.
Place the +35 2nd Order Power Bit and a Stat Modifier Bit into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Skill Enhancing Attachment.

Step 5.
Place the +35 Statted Attachment and place it into the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place also another Combatant Ring (or a piece of statted gear with 3 or more stats) into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Reverse Engineer once more. This created a +35 3rd Order Bit.

Step 6.
With 2x +35 2nd Order Power Bits and 1x +35 3rd Order Power Bit we have enough now to create a 3 Stat +35 Attachment.
Starting with a +35 2nd Order Power Bit we place it into the Reverse Engineering Tool Along with a Modifier Bit (Note for Shirt/Chestplate/Weapon Exotic Modifier Bit such as Heal Potency you will want to place it in 1st before non Exotic Modifier Bits such as Agility, Exotic attachments created by Exotic Modifier Bits can only be placed on either a Shirt/Chestplate/Weapon).
In this example I am going to place +35 2nd Order Power Bit and a Heal Potency Modifier Bit (Exotic) into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Swap Attachment/PUP Type to desired attachment type.
Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Skill Enhancing Attachment.
This created a +35 Healing Potency Shirt Attachment because we used an Exotic Modifier Bit.

Step 7.
Place the +35 Shirt Attachment (Exotic) into the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place the second +35 2nd Order Power Bit into the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place the Stat Modifier Bit (Agility) into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Skill Enhancing Attachment.

Step 8.
You now have 2 Stats on the Shirt Attachment, +35 Agility and +4 Heal Potency.
Place the Shirt Attachment one more time into the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place the +35 3rd Order Power Bit into the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place the Stat Modifier Bit (Luck) into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Skill Enhancing Attachment.

The Shirt Attachment now has the 3rd stat on it.

Simplified concept
1. Create 1st (or 2nd), 2nd, 3rd Order Power Bit
2. Combine 2nd Order Power Bit with Modifier Bit, Create Attachment.
3. Combine Attachment with 2nd Order Power Bit, and Modifier Bit.
4. Combine Attachment with 3rd Order Power Bit, and Modifier Bit.
Result is 3 stats on an attachment.


Section 4 - PuP's (Powerups) and Weapon/Armor Power Bits
PuP's are best created by having as high as possible Luck and Reverse Engineering Chance. Higher the better chance of reaching the highest stat on the generated PuP.
Place a +35 Power Bit (Order does not matter) into the the Reverse Engineering Tool.
Place a Modifier Bit into the Reverse Engineering Tool.

Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Swap Attachment/PUP Type to desired attachment type.
Right Click the Reverse Engineering Tool and Select Create Powerup.

Understand that Exotics Modifiers have a different ration then Stat Modifiers.
Example of potential PuP Values

As you can see Stats reach a much higher number then Exotics, it is determined by there ration.

Weapon/Armor Bit Tool.
These are used to create Weapon or Armor Power Bits which can be placed into a Chest Plate or Weapon to create a Baked in stat.
The created Power Bit must be added to the weapon or chest plate during the crafting of the weapon or chest plate.
To create a Weapon/Armor Power Bit combine a Modifier Bit and a +35 Power Bit in a Weapon/Armor Bit Tool, select Create.

Hope you were able to follow along and create your own attachments so you can create stronger characters.
