When I first heard about SWG Evolve how it is attempting to blend both the NGE with the CU. What I was imagining was is what friend described when he used his Jedi as a Rifleman during the CU able to fire a rifle at further range. Having enhanced combat skills across all skills, more like a Force Sensitive class instead of only a Lightsaber wielder.

I know it is a big request and would require some careful planning if implemented. The 2 Things I am suggesting.

Provide more access to base stats.

Make Jedi more of a Force Sensitive class instead of a Iconic Glow Stick Wielding hermit in robes.

This may not be the vision of this server but it is what I would like to see. Either way I look forward to the new content and challenges that is planned ahead, just probably not as a Jedi.

I can certainly appreciate the idea you’re coming up with for going with more of a “anything goes” mindset for classes.

Unfortunately, and this was designed well before I joined Evolve, Jedi was always intended to be locked behind its own “tier” shall we say, anything force sensitive wise would be locked with Jedi.

Perhaps in the future, that could be something to look at but we’re currently in the midst of our next big Jedi revamp on our test center before we focus on our harder content. The revamp is far from completed and this change has effects on our non-Jedi classes as well.

This is a pretty set decision but also so was Jedi being a solely PvP class initially and enough feedback came to us where we made adjustments.

My recommendation is while this revamp is worked on, you could explain why this should be done and how you could see it working, in your view.

Jedi revamp, haven't seen those changes so that could be enough to convince me to retract my suggestion.

The revamp is more accurate to be called a Jedi Specialization.

You can see the initial changes made on the test center as well as the test center forums for the current patch notes, which will be updated as soon as the next test patch comes out.

Why it should be done, it was what I imagined. That's not a constructive answer.

Thought on implementation when one unlocks there Jedi class they unlock there 8th character slot along with opening up new expertise trees and if able few additional expertise points to fill in only Force Sensitive boxes.

Pure Jedi would be a box that would need to be checked in the expertise tree before specing into the existing Jedi Class that is being revamped they would not be able to spec into the combat/artisan/entertainer class.

Force Sensitive would be a box that would need to be checked in the expertise tree before specing into the existing combat/artisan/entertainer class trees but with a added Force Sensitive trees with 4-8 bonus expertise to fill in the force sensitive boxes of there choice. Limited to 4-8 expertise points into the Force Sensitive boxes, but limited to one or two of the below options when fully specced. These bonus expertise would only be able to apply to the Force Sensitive boxes. If bonus expertise could not be added, I would suggest adjusting the power of the below expertise to be accomplished with 1-2 expertise so that it wouldn't break much of existing builds.

Force Sensitive Crafter's would have option to increase Higher chance at a Critical Roll, bonus to increased Quality of Resources, or increased experimentation.

Force Sensitive Entertainers would have a significant boost to cut down the time to apply entertainer buffs, or perhaps a option every few minutes to apply an instant entertainer buff. (I would suggest an extra 5 points in the buff window but entertainer buffs are already one of the most powerful buffs in-game).

Force Sensitive Range would have a option to increase Base Damage, Base Range 10m, Increased Hit ability, or a proc chance.

Force Sensitive Melee would have a option to increase Base Damage, Base Range 2-3m, Increased Hit ability, or a proc chance, powerful root.

Force Sensitive Defender would have a option to boost a defense stat ie Dodge,Block,Glance..., or damage reduction.

Force Sensitive Healer would have a option for focus on cooldowns of heals/revive, or boosted heal potency.

Force Sensitive Jack of All would have option to add 200-400 of each stat ie STR,CON,PRE,LUK,STA..., but obviously limited to focus of one or divided different stats.

I hope this explains my thought on this.

I tried "Make me a Jedi" from the frog on TC, it wasn't changing anything, maybe I was not doing it correctly. It gave me a holocron, then it said I was unable. Dunno how its supposed to work.

It gives you the unlock holocron. This is the same holocron from our Jedi unlock method. It tells you what you need to make it work. You have to be declared a faction, etc, before converting that character to a Jedi, occupy the unlocked alot.

Thank you Rezec. I must have misspelled the /occupyUnlockSlot probably with all lowercase. I do see some ideas forming for how to build a Jedi with the revamp.

To discourage players from respecing between Jedi and Force Sensitive, could implement a hefty cost using the profession counselor.
Could add free respec using free respec device, they used to exist, place it on the Daily Token vendor for 30 daily tokens.

Think it would be coding nightmare to apply only to Jedi, but I don't no about coding.

You do realize you don't need to go to the profession counselor, right? You can just right click twice on the box you want to remove and it removes it?

Zero is right, you only visit a respec NPC here if you need a full wipe. Otherwise you can realloc expertise boxes pretty simply.

Otherwise there is NO changing from a Jedi to a non-Jedi. It has been clearly stated since Jedi launched that it was a permanent one-way decision.

As this suggestion currently stands, it is the opposite of everything we are doing with Jedi on Evolve. Jedi is entirely its own thing with no access to other class skills or the crafting system and there will be no back and forth between Jedi and non-Jedi skill sets.
